United to Lead, to Promote, to Secure, and to Defend

Oregon Associate Staff Organization’s Kelli Williams began service as a National Staff Organization Region 7 Director in August of 2024.

“I look forward to supporting and working with the members in my region and across the country,” Williams said. “NSO provides invaluable resources for its members and I’m eager to be a part of such a hard-working and engaged executive board!”

Williams has worked as a field specialist in Oregon since 2008. She succeeds Edna Barnhouse, who served NSO as the Region 7 Director for many years and helped Williams transition into the role.

“Kelli has a depth of experience serving her colleagues in Oregon,” said NSO President Brad Darjean. “She was previously president of the associate staff, bargaining chair, and was also a member of the grievance committee. We are fortunate Kelli agreed to continue her service to NSO’s executive committee and she is also moving up to co-chair the research committee.”

Outside of her professional commitments, Williams loves any water sports – white water rafting, kayaking, paddleboarding. She is also an avid baker and reader, who spends a good portion of her time cheering on her 15-year-old daughter and her volleyball teams.

The National Staff Organization serves as a resource for the thousands of staff members who work for the National Education Association and its state affiliates.

With its expertise in negotiations, grievances, and training, NSO is committed to supporting its affiliates in all aspects of their work.
