Five years without a raise or an increase of any kind has been enough for the North Carolina Staff Organization (NCSO). They’ve spent months getting ready for bargaining and the latest move by their Executive Director has even furthered their solidarity.
At their December regularly scheduled staff meeting, management gave each staff member a $50 gift card. NCSO President Frederick Pruitt echoed the feelings of the staff with a passionate speech explaining that staffers have had enough of no increases.
“Model the same respect, fair treatment and compensation you pledge to the members we serve,” Pruitt challenged the Executive Director.
The meeting ended with every NCSO member marching to the front of the room to return the $50 gift card.
That’s what solidarity looks like!
