President Brad Darjean announces vacancies on the NSO Pension & Benefits Committee. This committee is charged with informing affiliates and pension plan trustee members of fiduciary responsibilities, training to pension plan trustees, and developing criteria and strategies for the establishment and/or improvement of affiliate pension and/or welfare plans.
NSO has two (2) vacancies on the Pension & Benefits Committee. We’re looking for people with experience and background in the following areas, especially but not exclusively for, staff unions:
- Medical/ Dental/ Vision/ Life/ etc. Insurance Benefit Designs, Procurement, Cost Structures, & Analysis
- Defined Benefit and/or Defined Contribution/401(k) Plans
- Keeps up-to-date on trends & upcoming areas of caution
Requirements
- Active NSO member in good standing;
- Attend 1-2 in-person committee meetings per year (2-day meetings) and virtual meetings as needed;
- Contribute to “off-line” work outside of official committee meetings throughout the year;
- Work with outside vendors & providers to procure information needed;
- Work collaboratively in a supportive, volunteer-driven environment;
- Be self-motivated and comfortable meeting deadlines;
- Work with union siblings from across the country to advance NSO’s mission.
